This factor counts how many LinkedIn company URLs — links shaped like linkedin.com/company/<identifier> — appear in a page’s rendered HTML. It is a raw text count, not a measure of distinct, verified, or active profiles, so a higher number is an observation about markup, not proof that more social links help a page rank.

What it measures
This factor counts LinkedIn company URLs matching the pattern linkedin.com/company/<identifier> within the measured zone. It answers a narrow, structural question: how many times does a link to a LinkedIn company page appear in the page’s markup?
How RankGear measures it
RankGear performs a case-insensitive regular-expression scan of the rendered HTML (with scripts removed) and returns the number of matches. Each occurrence of the company-URL shape is tallied, whether or not it points to a distinct or reachable profile.
What RankGear looks for
linkedin.com/company/<identifier> (case-insensitive)How to optimize it
Link to the organization’s genuine, maintained LinkedIn company page when it helps visitors verify or follow the business — for example in the site footer, an about section, or contact details. Treat the count itself as a structural observation, not a target to inflate: adding repeated or decorative links purely to raise the number serves no visitor and is not evidence of a ranking gain.
Important considerations
- This counts matching URL text, not distinct, verified, active profiles or successful shares.
- Repeated matches are counted separately, so the same URL appearing several times raises the count.
- The detector follows a specific URL shape, so other valid modern LinkedIn URL forms may not count, and look-alike text that fits the pattern may count.
- Correlation is not causation: treat this as a structural observation about the page, not evidence that adding more social links improves rankings. It is a prioritization signal within a measured result set, not a guarantee of position.
