What it means in RankGear
The Reports Screen is where finished analyses land. When a run completes, RankGear writes its results as an HTML report and an XLSX workbook into the output folder you chose, and this screen indexes those files so you can reopen them without digging through your file system. It reads directly from that configured output folder, so the list you see mirrors what has actually been saved to disk.
How to interpret it
Treat it as a file browser scoped to RankGear’s own output rather than a live dashboard. What appears reflects the currently selected output folder and the runs that have finished writing to it. If a report you expect is missing, confirm the run actually completed and that you are pointed at the right folder. Opening an entry hands you the saved artifact itself — the HTML for reading, the XLSX for working the numbers.
| Artifact | What it is |
|---|---|
| HTML report | A readable summary of a run’s findings, opened in your browser. |
| XLSX workbook | A spreadsheet of the underlying factor data for sorting, filtering, and export. |
Example
After running a competitive analysis for a target keyword, you open the Reports Screen and find the newly written HTML report at the top of the list. You click through to review the on-page findings, then open the matching XLSX workbook to sort the factor rows and copy the figures into your own tracking sheet.
Important considerations
- It shows only what lives in the selected output folder — change the folder and the list changes, and files moved or deleted outside RankGear will not appear.
- It is a navigation and retrieval surface: it tells you where results are stored, not whether a page ranks. The screen itself is not a scoring signal.
- The reports it lists summarize provider-derived, comparative measurements. Those indicate how pages differ from one another, not what Google is scoring, so read them as evidence to weigh rather than as causes of ranking.
