Analysis Run

An Analysis Run is RankGear’s complete keyword analysis workflow: it gathers a comparison set of ranking pages, measures on-page and off-page factors across them, calculates how each factor relates to rank, and writes the workbook and any reports you selected.

What it means in RankGear

An Analysis Run is the end-to-end job you start from the Analyse tab. Give it a target keyword and it collects the pages currently ranking for that query, measures hundreds of factors across the comparison set, computes the statistical relationship between each factor and rank position, and records everything in a workbook alongside whatever reports you chose to generate. It is the single action that turns a keyword into the evidence RankGear draws on everywhere else in the app.

How to interpret it

Read an Analysis Run as a workflow state, not a score. Before you trust any number it produced, confirm the inputs it actually used, the keyword, the comparison set it gathered, and the location and device settings, and check that the run finished and produced the artifact it claims. A run built on a thin or off-target comparison set carries that weakness into every metric downstream, so the quality of the inputs bounds the quality of the results.

StageWhat happens
GatherCollects the pages ranking for the target keyword into a comparison set.
MeasureRecords on-page and off-page factor values for every page in that set.
CorrelateCalculates how each factor tracks with rank position across the set.
ProduceWrites the workbook and any reports selected for the run.

Example

A user opens Analyse → Analysis Run, enters “commercial refrigeration repair,” and starts the run. RankGear pulls the pages ranking for that query, measures their factors, calculates the correlations with rank, and returns a workbook plus the on-page report the user ticked before starting. The user then opens the retained workbook to see which factors separate the leading pages from the laggards for that keyword.

Important considerations

  • An Analysis Run describes RankGear behavior and navigation. It is a workflow, not a ranking signal in its own right.
  • The relationships a run reports are correlations across the pages it gathered, not causes and not Google’s own scoring. A factor tracking with rank does not mean changing it will move your position.
  • Measured factor values are comparative, relative to the specific pages in this run’s comparison set, so they are indicators for that SERP rather than absolute scores.
  • Results are only as current as the inputs. Re-run when the SERP shifts or when you change the keyword, location, or device settings.
