Your Value

Your Value is the measurement RankGear takes from your tracked page for a single factor — the number or state that page actually shows, before any comparison.

What it means in RankGear

Every row in the Results table stands for one factor, and Your Value is the column that reports what RankGear measured on the page you are tracking. If the factor counts words in the body, Your Value is that count; if it checks whether a term appears in the title, Your Value is the presence or absence RankGear found. It is the raw reading for your page — the fixed reference point that the competitor set, the target range, and any recommendation are all measured against.

How to interpret it

Read Your Value in context, never on its own. A single number means little until you set it beside the comparison set of ranking pages, the deficit strategy RankGear is applying to that factor, and the strength of the underlying correlation. A value that looks low can be exactly where it should be if the top pages cluster there, and a value that looks high can still be a liability. Let the target range and the direction of the gap tell you whether the reading is a problem, instead of optimizing any one value in isolation.

Example

Say you are tracking a service page for “emergency plumber” and the “words in body” factor shows a Your Value of 480, while the comparison set of ranking pages centers near 1,200. RankGear reads that gap, flags the factor, and turns the difference into a prioritized action — expand the body toward the observed range — rather than leaving you to eyeball the number yourself.

Important considerations

  • Your Value is a measurement, not a verdict. It tells you what your page shows, not whether that reading helps or hurts until it is compared against the ranking set.
  • The gap between Your Value and the target is a comparative indicator drawn from the measured SERP. It reflects correlation with pages that currently rank, not proof that changing the value will change your position.
  • Provider-supplied and computed values are scaled to make pages comparable; treat them as relative signals inside RankGear, not as absolute scores Google assigns.
