Variations in Questions counts how many times your run’s keyword variations appear inside the questions RankGear parses from a page’s body. It returns a whole-number occurrence count, not a score — and a higher count reflects how you phrased your questions, not proof that the page will rank.

What it measures
This factor counts keyword variations inside the questions parsed from a page’s body. RankGear isolates the interrogative sentences in your main content and tallies how many times any term from the run’s variation set turns up inside them. It is a count of matches within questions specifically — not across the whole page — so it reflects the vocabulary you use when you actually pose a question to the reader.
How RankGear measures it
RankGear parses questions from the script-free body and independently sums case-insensitive whole-word matches for the run’s variation set in each question. In practice that means the page’s scripts are stripped first, the remaining body is scanned for questions, and each question is checked on its own: for every variation in the run’s set, RankGear counts case-insensitive whole-word occurrences and adds them to the running total. Matches are consumed within a question as they are found, so overlapping variations compete for the same text rather than each claiming it.
