How RankGear measures it
RankGear counts case-insensitive occurrences of the string .hop.clickbank.net in the rendered, script-free page body. Repeated references count separately, whether or not they sit inside a functioning anchor — each matched signature adds one to the tally.

Treat the count as an observation about your page, not a target to inflate. Keep only relevant, credible, and clearly disclosed offers, and remove redundant or stale links. Apply sponsored relationship markup (rel="sponsored") to the links you keep. Adding more ClickBank references to move this number up is not the goal — the aim is a clean, honest set of offers.
Important considerations
- The count does not measure unique offers or conversions — the same offer referenced twice counts as two.
- Redirected or shortened link formats that hide the hop domain may be missed, so the true reference count can be higher than measured.
- More links are not inherently better; a large count is not a quality signal.
- The factor’s inherited name contains a double space — a naming quirk only, with no effect on what is measured.
