Trust Flow is a third-party Majestic metric, scored 0–100, that estimates the quality of a site’s backlinks by how closely they trace back to a hand-picked set of trusted seed sites.

What it means in RankGear
Trust Flow appears among RankGear’s off-page factors, populated when you enable a Majestic data provider for a run. It is one of the link-authority signals RankGear pulls in alongside referring domains and raw backlink counts, and it stays attached to each measured page so you can line competing pages up side by side in the workbook and in saved reports.
How to interpret it
Read Trust Flow on its own 0–100 scale, and read it relatively. A higher figure means a backlink profile that traces more directly to sites Majestic treats as trustworthy. Because Majestic builds the score from its own web index, only compare Trust Flow between pages measured under the same run conditions. It is most informative next to Citation Flow: link volume without proportional trust often points to thin or low-quality linking, while trust that outpaces volume can mark a small but well-connected profile.
| What you see | What it suggests |
|---|---|
| Trust Flow high relative to peers | Backlinks lean on well-trusted sources; stronger off-page authority signal |
| Trust Flow low, Citation Flow high | Many links but little trust behind them — worth inspecting the referring domains |
| Both low | Little external authority evidence for the page in this run |
Example
Say you audit two competitor URLs targeting the same query, both measured in one RankGear run with the Majestic provider enabled. Page A shows a Trust Flow of 42 and Page B shows 11. Page A’s backlinks trace back more closely to trusted seeds, so its off-page authority reads stronger — a cue to study where those trusted links come from rather than simply counting how many links each page has.
Important considerations
- Trust Flow is a Majestic metric on Majestic’s index and scale. It is a comparative indicator, not a Google ranking score, and a high value does not by itself make a page rank.
- The field only populates when a Majestic provider is enabled for the run; without the provider it stays empty.
- Compare Trust Flow only among pages measured under the same run conditions — different provider indexes and refresh dates are not directly comparable.
- Always read it alongside Citation Flow; either metric alone tells only half the story of a link profile.
