What it means in RankGear
Claude is one of the AI providers RankGear can route generation and analysis tasks to. You select and configure it in AI settings, then reach it through the Ask Claude workflow, where you hand the model context from your project and ask it to draft copy, rewrite a section, or critique an experiment. RankGear supplies the context and passes your request to Anthropic’s service; the model returns text that stays in the workbook until you decide what to keep. It is a writing and reasoning tool inside the app, not a scoring engine or a source of ranking data.
How to interpret it
Treat every Claude response as a draft to inspect, not a verdict to apply. Before you accept anything, check four things: the context you actually supplied, the specific model you chose in AI settings, the cost boundary that request falls under, and the proposed output itself. The same prompt against a different model or with thinner context will produce different text, so read what came back on its own merits rather than assuming it is authoritative because it came from an AI.
Example
You are reviewing a competitor comparison and want a sharper intro. In Ask Claude you paste the target keyword and the current draft, then ask the model to tighten the opening paragraph and flag any claim that needs a citation. Claude returns a rewritten intro plus a short list of unsupported statements. You keep two of its sentences, discard a third that overstated a statistic, and add the source it asked for before publishing.
Important considerations
- AI output can be incomplete or wrong. Verify factual claims, credentials, statistics, citations, and experimental isolation before you publish or act on anything Claude produces.
- Claude is a text generator, not a ranking signal. Its suggestions do not move Google rankings, and nothing it writes should be read as a measurement of how a page will perform.
- Model choice and context shape the answer. Switching models in AI settings or changing the context you feed the request changes the output, so results are not directly comparable across different configurations.
