Has JSON-LD Room

Has JSON-LD Room reports whether your page’s raw source contains a JSON-LD @type of Room — returning 1 when the string is present and 0 when it is not. It is a source-text pattern match, not a validated schema check, so a matching string anywhere in the HTML counts.

What it measures

This factor reports whether RankGear finds an @type value of Room in the page’s raw source. It is a presence signal: 1 means the markup string was detected, 0 means it was not. It says nothing about whether the surrounding JSON-LD is valid or complete.

How RankGear measures it

RankGear searches the raw HTML for the text "@type": "Room", tolerating flexible whitespace around the colon and optionally allowing a schema: prefix on the type. Matching is case-insensitive, so capitalization differences do not affect detection.

What RankGear looks for

<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "Room",
  "name": "Deluxe King Room",
  "occupancy": { "@type": "QuantitativeValue", "maxValue": 2 },
  "amenityFeature": [ { "@type": "LocationFeatureSpecification", "name": "Wi-Fi" } ]
}
</script>
ValueMeaning
1A "@type": "Room" string (optionally schema:Room) was found in the raw HTML.
0No such string was found.

How to optimize it

Use Room only for a genuine room, with accurate location, dimensions, occupancy, amenities, images, availability, and offer details. Ensure every property reflects content users can verify on the page. Treat the 0/1 value as an observation of what your source already contains, not a target to chase — adding the markup where no real room exists helps nothing.

Important considerations

  • The detector pattern-matches source text instead of validating a JSON-LD graph.
  • A matching string outside valid JSON-LD — in a comment, a code sample, or an inert script — can still produce 1.
  • Capitalization differences do not affect detection.
  • Validate the complete structured data independently with a schema validator.
  • Correlation is not causation: this signal relates to position within a measured result set and is a prioritization signal, not a guarantee that adding Room markup will raise rankings.
