This factor counts how many times your keyword’s variations appear inside the page’s semantic section elements. It returns a whole number — the summed count of case-insensitive, whole-word variation matches within cleaned section content. It reflects where your topic language lives, not a target to inflate: a section wrapper on its own adds no relevance.

What it measures

This factor counts keyword variations inside semantic section elements. Rather than looking at the whole page, it isolates the content you have grouped into thematic section blocks and tallies how often your keyword’s recognized variations occur there. It is a placement signal: it describes how much of your topic vocabulary sits inside the page’s structured, sectioned regions.

How RankGear measures it

RankGear extracts recognized section contents from the script-free body, cleans each capture, and sums case-insensitive whole-word variation matches. In practice the analyzer works from a version of the page with scripts removed, pulls out the text held by each section element, normalizes that captured text, and then counts every whole-word variation match without regard to letter case. The result is the total across all sections.

How to optimize it

Use section for meaningful thematic groupings, and cover each section’s topic with clear, relevant language. Treat this as an observation about your document structure, not a number to chase. When you organize a page into genuine thematic sections and write each one plainly about its subject, the relevant variation language tends to appear there naturally. Do not add section wrappers or repeat variations to move the count — the value is a reflection of good structure, not a lever that produces ranking on its own.

Important considerations

• HTML is cleaned before matching, so styling, attributes, and non-text markup do not contribute to the count.
• Complex nested sections can affect the regex captures, which may change how much content is attributed to a given section.
• A section wrapper alone adds no relevance — the element by itself carries no topic value.
• Use sections to improve document structure, not to raise the count.
• This is a correlation-based prioritization signal measured within a result set. A higher count does not make a page rank or guarantee a position; it relates to how top pages tend to be structured.
