What it measures
The factor reports whether RankGear detects at least one US-style ten-digit telephone-number pattern in the rendered page body after scripts are removed. A value of 1 means a qualifying pattern was found; a value of 0 means none was found. It does not verify that the number belongs to the business, is visible to users, accepts calls, or is formatted with complete international context.
How RankGear measures it
RankGear searches the script-free body HTML for three digits, one or two accepted separators, three more digits, another one or two accepted separators, and four digits. Accepted separators include whitespace, periods, and hyphens, plus a closing parenthesis in the first separator position. Because the pattern can match inside a longer string, a number shown with a leading parenthesis or country code may still qualify through its ten-digit portion. One or more matches return 1. A separate factor counts all qualifying phone-number occurrences.
