This metric looks only at that captured name and reports how many topical word variations it contains, giving a plain read on whether the site’s brand label carries query terms or stays purely a brand.

Matching is whole-word and case-insensitive, so the same term in different capitalizations is treated as one variation rather than several.

Treat this as an observation, not a target. Use the actual brand or publication name consistently across your pages, and include topical words only when they are a genuine part of that name. Do not pad og:site_name with query terms to lift the count — it is a brand field, and inflating it misrepresents your site to every platform that reads it.
