Media room: RankGear brand assets, boilerplate and facts
Everything needed to write about, link to, or display RankGear accurately — approved logo files, the colour and type specification, copy-ready descriptions at three lengths, and the usage rules that come with them.
Fast facts
The quotable figures, with where they come from
- What it is
- Evidence-led desktop SEO analysis software — it measures the pages winning a query and reports the difference between them and your page as an ordered, inspectable plan.
- Platforms
- macOS 14+ (Apple silicon) and Windows 11 (x64/ARM64), running the same shared analysis and reporting engine.
- Measurement depth
- 870 ranking factors catalogued across 22 families; 856 measured on a standard run, at result depths from the top 10 to the top 100. See Methodology for how each is derived.
- Where the data lives
- Reports are written as local files on the user’s own machine, and analysis runs on the user’s own external-provider accounts. There is no required cloud account for report storage.
- Company
- A product of Digitaleer. Founder: Clint Butler. Canonical product name is RankGear — one word, capital R and G, no space.
- Category
- SEO analysis and decision software. Not a rank tracker, not a site crawler, not an all-in-one marketing suite — see Compare for where each of those fits better.
Correlation, not causation. Every factor figure RankGear publishes describes a relationship inside a measured result set. It is evidence for prioritizing work — not a claim about Google’s algorithm, a factor weight, or a guaranteed ranking. Please carry that distinction into any description of the product.
Brand assets
Logo files, and which one belongs where
Vector SVG for screen and print, PNG for quick placement. PNG files have transparent backgrounds. The wordmark is outlined artwork with no font dependency — it does not need Inter installed.
Shown here without the tagline, which is the correct lockup below 360 px wide. The + tagline link gives you the full lockup for larger placements; both sit in the ZIP, along with the stacked, light, dark and single-colour variants.
Colour
Five values, in sRGB
Print. These are sRGB values. Convert with your printer’s ICC profile and proof before a production run — the supplied PDFs are RGB vectors, not CMYK separations.
Typography
Inter, in three weights
| Weight | Used for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Inter Bold 700 | Headings and key messages | Tight tracking; the display voice. |
| Inter Semibold 600 | Labels, buttons, subheads | Uppercase with added tracking for the tagline and small brand labels. |
| Inter Regular 400 | Body and supporting copy | 16 px minimum on screen, 10 pt minimum in print. |
Inter is licensed under the SIL Open Font License and is bundled in the brand kit. The logo lettering is custom artwork and sits outside the Inter type system — don’t rebuild the wordmark by setting “RankGear” in Inter.
Usage
The rules that come with the files
- Clear space
- Keep at least one gear-tooth height of clear space around any logo or mark.
- Minimum size
- Full lockup with the tagline: 360 px wide on screen, 65 mm in print. Wordmark without the tagline: 140 px wide, 30 mm in print. Below that, use the gear mark on its own.
- Backgrounds
- Primary on white or soft indigo. Dark variant on ink. Reversed artwork on deep brand backgrounds or photography.
- Never
- Stretch, rotate, recolour, add effects or shadows, or change the colour relationships between the wordmark, gear and arrow.
- App icons
- Supplied as full square artwork — apply the platform mask at packaging time, not to the source file.
- Social
- Crops differ by platform. Preview each upload in the destination service before publishing.
- Permission
- These marks identify RankGear in editorial, comparison and integration contexts. They don’t imply endorsement, partnership or certification, and they shouldn’t be used as part of another product’s name or logo.
Accuracy
How to describe RankGear without overstating it
The product makes a narrow, defensible claim, and it is easy to widen it by accident. These are the lines we hold to in our own copy.
| Accurate | Not accurate |
|---|---|
| “Measures how the pages ranking for a query differ from yours.” | “Reveals Google’s ranking factors.” |
| “Correlation within the measured result set, used to prioritize work.” | “Shows which factors make pages rank.” |
| “An optimization score for how much of the supported deficit a page has closed.” | “A quality score” or “a probability of ranking.” |
| “Desktop software; reports stay on the user’s machine.” | “A cloud SEO platform.” |
| “870 factors catalogued, 856 measured per standard run.” | “Tracks 870 ranking signals Google uses.” |
The distinction matters to us because it is the product’s whole argument: a recommendation you can’t inspect isn’t evidence. Methodology sets out how each number is derived, and About covers the company and the reasoning behind it.
Boilerplate
Copy-ready descriptions at three lengths
Use whichever fits the space. Please don’t edit the claims — the wording is deliberate.
25-word
RankGear is evidence-led desktop SEO software for macOS and Windows. It measures the pages winning a query and turns the gap into an auditable plan.
80-word
RankGear is evidence-led desktop SEO software for macOS and Windows, built by Digitaleer and led by founder Clint Butler. Instead of issuing an opaque grade, it measures the pages actually winning a query, places your page inside that competitive field, and reports the difference as prioritized work you can inspect. It catalogues 870 ranking factors across 22 families and measures 856 on a standard run. Reports are written to local files on your own machine, using your own external-provider accounts.
200-word
RankGear is evidence-led desktop SEO software for macOS and Windows, built by Digitaleer and led by founder Clint Butler. Most SEO tools answer a question with a grade: a score, a colour, a severity, and no visible reason behind it. RankGear was built backwards from the moment a client asks why a change matters. It measures the pages actually winning a specific query at a chosen location, language, device and result depth, places your page inside that competitive field, and reports the difference as prioritized work rather than a verdict. Every figure can be opened: the correlation within the measured result set, how the ranking pages use the factor, the target, the deficit, the stable Factor ID, and the source. The application catalogues 870 ranking factors across 22 families and measures 856 on a standard run, at result depths ranging from the top 10 to the top 100 results. Because Factor IDs persist across runs, its Diff and Trends views compare the same measurement over time instead of re-deriving it. Reports are written as local files on the user’s own machine and analysis uses the user’s own external-provider accounts, so client data never has to live in someone else’s cloud.

Questions, answered
Can I use the RankGear logo in an article or comparison?
Yes. Use the approved files on this page without alteration, keep one gear-tooth of clear space around them, and respect the minimum sizes. Use in editorial and comparison contexts doesn’t require permission, but it doesn’t imply endorsement or partnership either.
Which logo file should I use?
Primary on white or soft indigo backgrounds, Reversed on ink or photography, and the gear mark alone anywhere the wordmark would render under 140 px wide. SVG for anything that scales or prints; PNG for fixed placements.
Are there approved product screenshots?
Not on this page yet. For screenshots of a specific view, ask through the contact form and say which feature and platform you need, so you get a current capture rather than an outdated one.
How should the company be described?
RankGear is a product of Digitaleer, led by founder Clint Butler. The product name is one word with a capital R and G. The boilerplate above is approved at 25, 80 and 200 words.
Can I say RankGear shows which factors make pages rank?
No. RankGear measures correlation within a specific measured result set, which is evidence for prioritizing work rather than a claim about Google’s algorithm or a guarantee that a ranking will move. Methodology sets out exactly how each figure is derived.
