Attractions Report

The Attractions Report is a Maps-run companion report that lists the attraction-related local results RankGear collected while analyzing a location. It is a supporting reference view, not a ranking of your own business.

What it means in RankGear

When RankGear runs a Maps or local analysis, it queries a provider across a grid of coordinates around the tracked business. Alongside the primary rank data, the run picks up attraction-type places that surface in those same local results. The Attractions Report gathers them into a selectable HTML report and a matching Attractions tab in the workbook, giving you a reference layer of what nearby attractions appeared in the search space you measured. It describes the surrounding local results collected during the run rather than scoring your listing.

How to interpret it

Read the Attractions Report against the parameters of the run that produced it before drawing any conclusions. Confirm the coordinate center, the provider, the grid spacing, the depth, and the tracked business identity, because all of them shape what the report contains. The same attraction can appear at some grid points and be missing at others, so treat each entry as a snapshot of what the provider returned for that geography at that moment, not a fixed picture of the local landscape.

Example

Say you run a grid analysis for a downtown coffee shop. The Attractions Report might list a nearby museum, a riverfront park, and a historic plaza that turned up in the local pack across several grid points. One of them shows at the northern cells, drops out toward the southern edge of the grid, and returns a provider error at a single point in between, illustrating how uneven and proximity-bound Maps results can be.

Important considerations

  • Map rankings are highly proximity-sensitive and can shift with the coordinates, zoom level, provider data, and time of the run.
  • Provider results are comparative indicators tied to one provider and one run, not Google ranking scores; an attraction appearing near your business does not mean it influences where you rank.
  • Grid runs can return gaps and provider errors at individual points, so a not-found result at one cell is not proof that an attraction is absent from that area.
  • Always confirm the exact run parameters before comparing one Attractions Report with another.
