What it measures
This factor counts how many distinct terms from the run’s keyword-variation set appear somewhere in the rendered HTML source. It tracks variation breadth rather than the total number of occurrences. Repeating the same variation does not raise the count once that variation has already been found — each distinct term is worth exactly one, present or absent.
How RankGear measures it
RankGear lowercases the complete rendered HTML and checks each entry in the run’s match-word set for string presence. Every nonempty listed variation found in the source contributes one to the result, and the variation set is already distinct within the run. The check uses substring presence rather than word-boundary matching, so a short variation can be detected inside a longer word or within markup rather than as a standalone term.
How to optimize it
Treat the count as an observation of coverage, not a number to inflate for its own sake. Identify relevant variations used across the ranking field that the target page does not yet cover, then add that vocabulary through accurate explanations, headings, examples, comparisons, attributes, questions, and supporting sections. Build genuine semantic breadth around the topic instead of assembling a disconnected list of terms — each added variation should improve how completely or naturally the page serves the search intent.
