Has MicroFormat P-Price

Has MicroFormat P-Price checks whether a page carries the Microformats2 p-price property, the class that marks up a price value for machines. RankGear returns 1 when that exact marker is present and 0 when it is not — presence is an observation about your markup, not a check that the price itself is accurate or correctly formatted.

What it measures

This factor detects the p-price Microformats2 property — the class that labels a price value inside a product or offer block so that parsers reading Microformats can extract it. It reports only whether that property marker appears in the page body; it does not read the price, check the currency, or confirm that the surrounding product markup is valid.

How RankGear measures it

RankGear case-insensitively searches the body HTML (with scripts removed) for the exact double-quoted string class="p-price" and returns 1 when that string is present, 0 when it is absent. The match is literal: the class attribute value must be exactly p-price in that double-quoted form.

What RankGear looks for

<div class="h-product">
  <h1 class="p-name">Trail Runner 2</h1>
  <span class="p-price">$129.00</span>
</div>
ValueMeaning
1The literal string class="p-price" was found in the body HTML.
0The string was not found — no p-price property, or it appears only inside a multi-class attribute.

How to optimize it

Apply p-price to an accurate, visible price when the surrounding product or offer MicroFormat expects a price property. Because the check is a literal string match, a multi-class value such as class="amount p-price" is not recognized by this pattern — the value must be exactly p-price to register. Treat the result as an observation about your markup rather than a target to chase: tagging a price only matters when it sits inside genuine product or offer markup, and the factor relates to position within a measured result set rather than causing a ranking.

Important considerations

  • The factor does not validate the currency or the numeric format of the price — it confirms only that the property marker is present.
  • Multi-class values are missed: only an exact class="p-price" value matches this literal pattern.
  • Price markup must remain synchronized with the visible offer, so the tagged value matches what the customer actually sees.
  • Presence alone does not establish a valid product item; p-price is one property within a larger product or offer MicroFormat that its own factors measure.
  • Correlation is not causation: this signal tracks how the presence of p-price relates to position within a measured result set; it does not guarantee a ranking.
