This factor counts the eBay affiliate links on a page by tallying recognized eBay rover tracking URLs. It reflects how heavily a page leans on eBay affiliate placements — it does not measure clicks, conversions, or revenue, and its relationship to ranking is correlation, not causation.

What it measures
This factor counts the recognized eBay rover tracking URLs on the page. These are the tracking links the eBay Partner Network issues, and their presence marks where a page routes readers to eBay through an affiliate placement. The value is a plain occurrence count taken across the rendered, script-free page body.
How RankGear measures it
RankGear counts case-insensitive HTTP or HTTPS occurrences that begin with rover.ebay.com/rover/. Every matching occurrence adds to the count, so the same link placed several times is counted several times. Direct eBay URLs that do not use the rover tracking path are not counted.
What RankGear looks for
<a href="https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?...">View on eBay</a>
Match: case-insensitive http(s)://rover.ebay.com/rover/How to optimize it
Treat this as an observation of your eBay affiliate footprint, not a target to inflate. Keep the links relevant, available, current, and clearly disclosed. Remove redundant placements, and monitor the count as eBay inventory changes so the page is not left pointing at links that have gone stale.
Important considerations
- Direct eBay URLs are not counted — only recognized
rover.ebay.com/rover/tracking links register. - Repeated links count repeatedly: the same URL placed multiple times adds to the total each time.
- The count does not measure clicks, conversions, or revenue — only the number of link occurrences.
- The inherited factor name contains a double space; it refers to the same eBay affiliate-link count.
- Correlation is not causation. This count relates to position within a measured result set; it is a prioritization signal, not a guarantee that adding or removing eBay links will change rank.
