What it means in RankGear
TextRazor is one of the external providers RankGear can connect to for entity analysis. You add its API key under Settings, and from then on the entity workflows can hand page text to TextRazor and read back the entities it identifies. Those results feed the entity sheets you compare across competing pages, the entity-related factors, and the contextual-density components that describe how densely a topic is covered. TextRazor is optional: it stays inactive until a key is present, and RankGear falls back to whatever it can measure without it.
How to interpret it
Treat TextRazor as the source of certain entity readings, not as a score in itself. When you read an entity sheet, keep two questions separate: was the provider available for this run, and what value did it return. Only compare entity or authority evidence across pages that were measured under the same run conditions and the same provider, because different providers draw on different indexes and label entities differently. A number that came from TextRazor is comparable to another TextRazor number, not to one produced by a different tool or a different run.
Example
Say you are working a competitive set of ten pages for a cybersecurity query. With a TextRazor key saved in Settings, each page you pull into the run is sent through TextRazor, which returns the named entities it recognizes, such as products, organizations, and standards. RankGear populates the entity sheet with those, so you can see that eight of the ten pages mention a specific compliance framework that your draft omits. Because every page in that set was enriched by the same provider in the same run, the comparison is like for like and the gap is real signal rather than a provider artifact.
Important considerations
- TextRazor is a third-party service. It only runs when you have entered a valid API key under Settings, and it is subject to that provider’s own rate limits, quotas, and availability.
- Provider metrics use different indexes and scales. They are comparative indicators for ranking pages against each other, not Google scores, and a higher provider value does not cause a page to rank.
- Keep runs comparable: mixing pages enriched by TextRazor with pages enriched by another provider, or by none, breaks the like-with-like comparison the entity sheet depends on.
