People Also Ask

People Also Ask (PAA) is the set of related questions Google surfaces alongside a search query — the expandable question boxes on the results page — which RankGear retrieves through its MCP Scraper integration.

What it means in RankGear

When you configure a workbook, RankGear can pull the People Also Ask questions tied to your target query and hold them alongside your other SERP data. These are the folding question boxes Google shows mid-results — each one a phrasing real searchers use around your topic. In the product they arrive through the MCP Scraper integration, so a PAA pull is subject to the same provider, country, language, and device settings as the rest of your run rather than being a static list baked into the workbook.

How to interpret it

Read a PAA set as a snapshot of the questions Google associated with your query at the moment and place of the scrape, not as a fixed or ranked list. Before you compare one workbook’s questions against another’s, confirm the two runs shared the same provider, country, language, device, and location, and that each pull reached the depth you asked for and completed. Localization matters here: a query run for one country or language routinely returns a different question set than the same query run for another. Treat the questions as topical signal — what people ask around the subject — rather than as a scoring metric.

Example

Say you are building a workbook around “cold brew coffee.” A PAA pull might return “Is cold brew stronger than regular coffee?”, “How long does cold brew last in the fridge?”, and “Is cold brew better for your stomach?” Run the same query localized to the United Kingdom and the box may swap in different phrasings or questions entirely. A Top 20 localized run can take several provider calls to assemble, and every one of those calls has to carry the identical localization settings, or you end up stitching together questions from two different SERPs.

Important considerations

  • PAA results change over time and by location, device, provider, and personalization context — a set captured today is not guaranteed to match one captured next week.
  • The questions are a comparative topical indicator, not a Google ranking score; surfacing a question in PAA says nothing about whether covering it “makes pages rank.”
  • Availability depends on the MCP Scraper integration and the configured provider, so confirm the run completed and hit the requested depth before treating the set as final.
  • Keep provider, country, language, device, location, and depth constant across runs you intend to compare, or the difference you see may be the settings rather than the SERP.
