What it means in RankGear
When RankGear measures a factor across a sample of pages, it reports summary statistics for that factor, and the minimum marks the low end of the observed range. It is the floor of the values actually seen in the run — the single smallest number among the analyzed pages — and it anchors one edge of the chart ranges you see next to a factor. Reading it alongside the maximum tells you how far apart the analyzed pages spread on that measure.
How to interpret it
Treat the minimum as the lowest a factor went in this particular run, and read it with its sign, scale, and sample size in mind. A low reading is not automatically meaningful: it can be a genuine zero, a value that was never measured for that page, or a single outlier that sits well below the rest. The gap between the minimum and the typical value is the useful signal — a minimum far beneath the average points to a wide, uneven distribution, while a minimum close to the average suggests the pages cluster tightly.

Example
Say RankGear analyzes word count across the pages ranking for a query and reports a minimum of 480, a maximum of 3,200, and an average near 1,600. The minimum flags that at least one competing page is unusually thin, so anchoring a content target to that low figure would be risky — the spread between 480 and 3,200 matters more than either endpoint alone when you decide where to aim.
Important considerations
- A minimum can reflect a missing or unmeasured value rather than a true low, so confirm whether the reading is measured, absent, or genuinely zero before acting on it.
- One page can pull the minimum far below the rest; check it against the average and distribution rather than reading it in isolation.
- Small SERP samples are unstable, and the minimum is the statistic most sensitive to a single unusual page.
- Provider factor values are comparative indicators, not Google ranking scores. Statistical association does not establish causation, and a low or high minimum does not make pages rank.
